The Ms. Foundation for Women is pleased to announce an open call for Southern Strategy proposals to support the social justice infrastructure in targeted southern states. Building upon our work in the Gulf Coast to support a just and equitable recovery after hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Ms. Foundation is now crafting a broader strategy focused on the Southern region. Our focus on the South will address the connections across many systemic inequities based on race, class, and gender that are woven into the social and political fabric of the region and the nation. This strategy places low-income women and women of color at the center of driving policy and culture change toward a more just and equitable democracy.18 December 2008
