Jobs Creation for Women: Join Us for an Important Conversation

"80% of all new jobs in this economic downturn are coming from microenterprises. Imagine the ripple effect when a low income woman starts a successful business in her neighborhood: she lifts her family up, creates jobs, her business can turn around the community."

Together with our friends at the New York Women's Foundation, the Ms. Foundation is pleased to offer you an exciting opportunity to learn how microenterprise is changing the lives of women across America.

Join us on Thursday, September 23 from 9:00 - 10:30 am to meet Julie Castro Abrams, CEO of Women’s Initiative for Self Employment, the largest microenterprise organization for women in the United States, for a briefing on jobs creation for women.

Learn how the Women’s Initiative small business development model has created thousands of jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area. The program shows a 30:1 return on investment within 18 months as women create businesses, pay taxes, employ others and come off of public assistance. Last year, Women’s Initiative trained more than 3000 low-income women and documented 2300 new jobs created by recent graduates.

We hope you'll be a part of this important conversation!

When: September 23, 2010, 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.

Where: Ms.Foundation for Women, 12 MetroTech Center, 26th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Please RSVP to Remi Spector at rspector@womensinitiative.org
